Ill be getting my tax returns sometime next week and gonna buy an exhaust for my truck finally. I know I'm gonna go sido, exiting out the corners with probably the 2.5" piping. Well my question is, after doing research and stuff, what's the main differences in the mufflers? I'm between the 40 and 44s. I realized there are like 3 40s; delta, super, original. What do most of yall have? And I want something with a deep tone/rumble. And yes Ive watched many clips, but lots just don't do justice or they all sounded very similar. Thanks for any input! Oh and product numbers would be great too! Make shopping easier lol
i've used the original 40 on my 95 f150 5.0 and it sounded very loud, inside and outside. it has more of a muscle car sound and frequently set off car alarms when a passed by. i currently have the super 44 in my 08 lariat si/so. it has a nice rumble when i turn it on and mellows out when warm, at cruising speeds you can hear it and at wot it growls! its loud when i want it to be and nice and mellow just cruising.
Super 44 is the second loudest behind the super 10. I think the super 40 is third? I have the super 44 siso with stock piping and its loud! Accelerating or cruising its loud but I like it loud. However I'm gettin the 3" into dual 2.5" mbrp sido with my tax return... But I love my super 44!
I have super 44 true duals with turn downs on my 05 5.4 fx4. Its loud, but i love it. With no tail pipes cab drone can get pretty bad on the highway at the right rpm. I had si/do flowmaster on my 98 4.6 straight out the back. It wasnt as loud but still sounded great.

Liking the replies, thanks guys. I'm probably gonna narrow down my options to the super 44 and the super 40. I like how you said the super 44s mellow out while you're driving. I wanna have a loud truck and turn heads, but I don't wanna be the guy that has that god awful obnoxious exhaust that sounds like you're redlining it non stop lol.
I have SI/DO Super 40 on mine and love it. It's been a year and a half with no issues.
Just like someone mentioned with the 44s, these will mellow out as well when everything warms up, but it'll roar if you step on it. Very nice, deep tone to it as well.
And I believe the order goes, 44, 40, 10 (quieter to louder)

I believe I'm gonna go with the super 44s sido. What size inlet and outlets should I look for? I see 2.5" and 3" inlets and outlets. And if people know product numbers of theses items, please post em.

Not any help on numbers but a standard size is 2.5 inlet and 2.25 outlets(Si/do)
