Default question for the experts

decided to go with the rancho 4" lift, now have to figure out what wheels(17 or 18) tires (35) to go with. also looking for CIA, exhaust, tuner. looking to pick up more power for the bigger tires. need recommandations please. what products perform the best and where to purchase them. thanks in advance.

I really like the Dick Cepek DC-1 black wheels, was very close to going with a set of them on my truck http://www.dickcepek.com/DC1_Black.html

As for wheel size I like 18's because it gives a good balance between wheel and tire sidewall. As for tires I really like the Pro Comp MT's I have on my truck right now. They have a very nice aggressive pattern to them, yet are very quiet on the roads. Had the Pro Comp Xtreme AT's on my truck previously and really liked them a lot also. They to showed a nice aggressive pattern, but were super quiet. I had 13k miles on them before they were stolen and they looked almost brand new, they probably would ahve easily lasted 50k miles if not more.

You're going to get a thousand different recommendations for CAI, exhaust and tuner. I can tell you my setup and tell you it works great for me and I am totally satisfied with the way I went. That's with an Air Force 1 CAI (3" tube), Xcal II with both Troyer and VMP custom tuning and a custom exhaust with Magnaflow muffler. The AF1 comes in 3" and 3.5", but the difference is the 3" tube does not require custom tuning where the 3.5" tube does. Both sets of custom tuning I have work great for my truck and I can tell little difference in them with the butt dyno. I will say that Troyer Performance specializes in custom tuning F150's though, but his tunes take upwards of 2 months to receive. VMP specializes in Mustang tuning, but also does a great job with the F150 and his tunes take about a week to receive.

There are lots of options out there, head over to the aftermarket section here and you'll find threads on CAI, exhaust and tuners there.

Also are you considering regearing after you lift and add larger tires? My recommendation would be to do so and add a set of 4.56's.

I'd go with a 17 or 18" wheel with 5 inches of backspace and throw some Toyo or BFG 35x12.5 mud terrain's on them. If you do a lot of highway driving in a lot of rain like I do I would recommend a 315x70x17 BFG all terrain or a 325x65x18 all terrain. I've been using an Edge programmer with my 3.73 gear's for a couple of year's to adjust speedo and the shift point's in order to run these taller tires. My highway mileage is 16-18 mpg on my daily 100 mile commute to work, and I can live with that. Just have to drive a little slower!
