Default Question about procomp lift

Im looking at getting the stage 1 proc comp for my 2004 fx4, I'm curous if i can still use the 1 1/2 inch leveling kit i have in it now to raise it just a little higher in the front or is that something i shouldn't do?

i think you can do that. dont quote me on it but quite a few guys have done that. you shouldnt run into any problems.

ok cool i was just thinking dismorning that they where both OEM products just curous if it screws anything up with the procomp like makes it worse handling or what not. but i dont htink its to hard to switch them out so ill try it both way to double check before i take it in to get alined.

Yeah you can still use it, just don't go 4 wheeling with it, your upper A arms will hang too low no room for travel.

interesting. you think it will make a huge difference in looks? im now just debating if its worth it or not lol i like to offroad.

Yup, for looks it will be OK but for off road I would say neh. Well you could still go off road but you will damage your upper arm. Picture down below had a 4 inch travel despite the angle it sits on.



Then boom, not enough and here are the results.





Here see how my upper A arm sits on this pic, it sits horizontally, so upward and downward travel is possible without it banging metal to metal.

hmm so definitly not then haha question though in the future i want to step up the king suspensions coilevers i will need to buy a new a arm for that right? or do i only need the shock?

Na you don't need the upper A arms just the shock. You can get something like this.

yah thats the plan just hoping that it all works out and another question when i do the lift and get 35's will i need ot regear it? i believe i have the stock gears in it now i have had people tell me they didn't chaneg the gears and it stil hadplenty of power but yet some people complain so much you know just curous

Most definitely, re-gear to 4.88 if you can afford it, but 4.56 will do. It will help your transmission from not frying and you'll get better gas mileage.

At first I only had a 6" lift and re-geared to 4.56 then I went to and 8" lift and had to re-gear to 4.88 cause of my 38's. I definitely saw a big difference with the 4.88s, smoother, faster take off and certainly better gas mileage.
