Question about the Gotts Mod.
I think he means to ask if it's possible to replace the entire air intake tube from the airbox to the fender with Pvc similar to the Gotts mod.
I don't see why not, but you're going to have trouble interfacing with the rectangular inlet on the airbox.

Hi.
First - PVC is the wrong material - you need ABS.
Second - to provide that unique oblong shape to mate with the stock airbox will cost you more than you think - without it ending up looking like Jethro Bodine fabricated it.

Third - replacing the balance of the factory intake assembly ( except for the snorkel mod a'la Gotts ), buys you nothing perf-wise. Looks - okay - I'll give you that, but a long run of **** pipe will look no better

Airraid MIT is what I use at the moment - got it a long cheaper than that years ago. No fekkin' sewer pipe fer me

good luck

Hi.
No worries.
Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene: any of a range of tough copolymers. Used in rotomolded items like intake tubes, drain pipes, etc.
This stuff survives the rigors of life in an engine compartment much better than PVC.
I understand it's hard to come by in certain states - it's common where I live though.

that really makes very little if any power difference. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but by the time you build something and have all the right connectors and come up with some kind of way to make it fit the correct size of the stock air box that houses the filter, you have spent more money and time than its worth. Plus it will look like a DIY pluming job under the hood as MGD said.I just found the Airaid on autoanything.com in the link below. Plus you can get the forum discount, which I think is 16%, plus free overnight shipping. So that puts you at less than $120 out the door.
