Default Question

Hi All,

I’m new here and have a question. (just bought my truck.) I want to add a brake controller to my 06 king Ranch to help tow my pop up trailer. I've been told that because it has the tow package, it’s just a “plug it in” install. If this is correct, where under the dash is the other end of the plug located and how is it marked, or is it?

Thanks

David

It is a small square plug (I believe grey in color) just behind the lower dash panel, over toward the center console.

By small I mean about an inch square. Look in the glove box. If you have a tow package you may still have the factory adapter. They came with a pigtail connection adapter to wire to your controller so you can just plug it in. I have a Prodigy P2 and was able to pick up the prodigy to Ford adapter at a local RV dealer for my camper.

It is important to note that there are extra relays that need to be plugged into the fuse panel as well. They may have been already plugged in by a previous owner. Check your owners manual and verify against the fuse panel. Located in the passenger side kick panel.

Yes the pig tail is in the glove box, thank you very much! Will the computer need to be flashed in an o6 once the controller is hooked up?

No it does not... Just plug and play.. The plug is directly lower right off the steering wheel right on the edge of the lower panel.. Just wire the pig tail up and make sure that the relay is installed in the fuse panel and you are set!!
