Default Quality Black Headlights

I have an 08 STX with eBay harleys on currently that I bought about two years ago. They have never put out very good light, and now the lense is all crackly and looks terrible. What is the best option for headlights without spending $400 on a set of stock Harleys or Recon. I want optimal light output, I would prefer black housings to match the theme of the rest of the truck, and I am open to Halogen, HID, or LED as long as they are reliable.

LOL... just went through this crap for the last 6 years.. been through several sets from Ebay/Recon and Americantruck.com .. they all look good for about a year if you seal them up properly prior to install.. then they turn to crap. I just bought a set of OEM Harley lights .. well bought a drivers side and waiting on the passenger side now off Ebay. P/N 7L3213008 E/A and H/A .. should of done this 6 years ago and saved money.

After getting screwed out of $80 on my first pair of black headlights due to cheap plastic lenses which eventually spiderweb cracked all the way across the lens. I just bought these with a 1 year assurant warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/361452207563
I have a little more piece of mind with the warranty.

How's the brightness? Can you see the road well? If you don't mind post up a night shot of the road in front of you! I had basically the same pair and bulbs never fit right, and they were never very bright.

Folks do this all the time...buy the cheaper set of headlights, only to end up buying the real deal later.

As techrep stated, you can save the 90 bucks and buy the good set now.

If there was such a deal on great headlights for cheap, we'd all already have them. Wait, we do, they are refered to as "OEM".

I have had 3 sets of ebay heads, never any issues. First set I sold when I did my retrofit, second set was the retrofit that I have since sold and now the set I have now. Other than taking the precaution to seal before use, at $70 a pair, I have been happy.

Other than having to basically force bulbs to fit and them putting out about 1/2 the light as stock heads I was satisfied for about 2 years until they started to spiderweb.

I ordered a set of ebay headlights, just took a look at them and sent them back. They were cheap looking, the adjustment screws were crap, and the inside was just black plastic instead of OEM paint (gloss).

I bit the bullet and bought a set of OEM harley's about 2 years ago, still look and work great, probably last another 8 years...............

The other option is just to recondition your oem headlights, open them up, paint, and polish the lens. That will still be better quality then the $60 ebay lights.
