Default preventative maintenance

I've finally hit the 100k mark on my truck anhave started getting necessary things done. I've just finished putting new bilstein gd series shocks and I've never felt a better improvement. The originals shocks and struts could be compressed to the floor with one hand easily, that's how bad it was. I've also flushed the transmission and added new motorcraft mercon V and BG tranny conditioner. She shifts very well with slight hesitation now. I also cleaned the MAF sensor and the throttle body to help out with acceleration and the buttdyno noticed and immediate response.

As you can see from some other previous posts, I've also claybarred the truck and it took remarkable amounts of impurities off of the paint. The difference is still there. Enjoy the pics!

Nice! I'm ready for a shock/strut upgrade myself.

Ive done all my stuff except the struts...I am trying to hold off to see if Im gonna do a lift, but the ride is not as smooth as I think it should be so I may just go ahead and do some and then find a lift that doesnt come with them

your truck looks good, I wish I had gone with some 315 or 325s instead of my 295s.

The bilsteins ran me 380 with the discount from here on shockwarehouse.com so far they run great. I put the back ones on in less than five minutes, but the struts were a pain. They all definitely needed to be replaced.

I also have 35s on mine, juuuuuust slightly bigger than a 325 I believe. I had 325s and they looked good too.

I've also heard some mention tranny flushes at 100K, I just hit 100K myself and I am changing the oil and fuel filter Saturday. Any other advice for mainteance? i'll be leveling the truck in the fall cause i'll be getting new tires.

According to Ford under normal conditions the transmission should be flushed every 30k and the filter should be changed at 150k. Just hit 127 in mine and had the filter done a little early and it's shifting MUCH better now.

I got the same struts and love em. The factory ones were finished at 65,000 miles.

I've got a little over 75K on mine and am beginning to think my front shocks are worn out. Question, do you have to replace the springs with the shock or can you do the shock separately? I thought they only came as an assembly, but in the OP pics, it looks like new shocks with original springs. Just curious because I would think the springs are fine, but he shock is what's worn out. Thanks guys.
