power loss when put under load

Default power loss when put under load

just replaced intake manifold, egr valve, plugs, coolant, oil and my truck idles and revs fine in neutral till I put it in drive and my engine loses almost all power can anyone point me into the right direction

did you check for plugged cats?

i didn't look at the cat considering I have good exhaust flow out the tail pipe

in park I can rev the engine and get good rpms without any issues but the moment it goes into drive it just powerless doesn't want to move like it wants to die

I have no idea what your vehicle is or how old it is but I would start with the easy stuff first.

Change the fuel filter.

you can rev the engine right up to redline and not miss fuel while it's in park its only when it goes into gear does lose all power to move

it's a 2007 f150 xlt 4.6 L and I think I've exhausted the easy stuff

You haven't said if it's thrown any codes so I'll assume there are none.

Ok, so from experience I can tell you it takes very little fuel to rev an engine in Park. That really doesn't tell you anything. Check for fuel pressure at the injector rail. I don't have a 4.6 but the test port should be located near the air intake. Normal fuel pressure should be 50-60 psi. Observe the readings in Park and again in Drive. If the fuel pressure is low in Park, or you see the pressure drop off when you put it in Drive then it's either a plugged fuel filter, your fuel pump needs checking or that fuel pump module is trash.

if your fuel pressure looks good then you'll wanna start looking at your injectors.
