Default Popping when accelerating hard

When I accelerate mostly at about 65mph a loud series of pops occur lay off the gas and slowly accelerate everything is fine. No check engine lights come on either.

Sounds like a misfire ...how many miles on your truck...may be time for a tune-up..

45,000 miles. What do you mean by tune up? Gaskets, compression check and what not?

Unlikely with that low mileage but possibly the dreaded spark plugs... Best bet just take to your mechanic to check for codes and what not. And that few miles on that year means it may have sat for a while. Hopefully just a tune up

Like said, likely a misfire. go for a drive with a scan tool hooked up displaying the ignition for all 8 cyls. Then when you make the problem happen it will be very obvious what cyl is the culprit just by watching the screen. If the ignition is all fine check into fuel issues.

It is the plugs, had the same problem, tried many different options of what it could be, ended up being the spark plugs

It's at the ford dealer right now. Just wanted to see if it is common or unheard of. Also wanted to make sure they fix the right problem.
