Default Plug Change

Reputable dealer bout 15 miles from my house said they would do the plug change for me for $300 and $25 dollars extra for every plug that breaks. Now, they also said that when the plugs break, they bore them out if the plug hole. Is this a safe method to be doing? I mean I guess it would be they're a dealer right? I need some input on what to tell them. They also said very rarely they will have to pull the head. What would you guys do in my situation?

Assume you have the 5.4. Nine times out of ten, if the plug tip breaks in the head you can remove it with the extractor,(Lisle, Snap-on,etc). Don't understand the bore out plug hole deal. Unless they screw up the threads and have to re-tap. I don't know, sounds fishy to me. I'd check local mechanic shops and see what they say. I got mine replaced by a local mechanic for less than $300 and he broke 6.

The only shop around here I will let touch my truck will not touch the plugs. I told them if they had to remove the head for any reason that I would not pay more. I told them I would only be paying for the change itself and the broken plugs and that the rest would be on them. I mean chances are they aren't gonna break every single plug. Also, I think the mean boring the plug out of the hole not boring the hole itself

So that is a good deal? What if that had to pull the head. They said they do these models all the time and they said they hardly ever have to pull the head

You keep answering your own question buddy...$300 for a plug job and $25 for each broken one from a reputable dealer is a GR8 price
