Plow on SuperCrew
So I took the plow that was previously installed on my 06 XLT SuperCab and installed it on my 08 XLT SuperCrew. From my understanding the issue lies in the springs used on the SuperCrew. Is there a set of dealer springs I can get to resolve this issue or do I need to buy aftermarket? I am assuming all I need are the springs and not some sort of leveling/lift kit or such to go with it.

So I found some more info finally. Looks like I need these springs: 8L3Z5310Z. What is the solid front axle you guys are speaking of? I read/heard the rear axle is different, didn't knwo the front was different as well.

A solid front axle is what a 3/4+ ton Ford truck has up front ie. F250, 350, 450 etc... Or early 150s
Your Independent front suspension won't like the added weight of a plow on its nose for too long... It's not made like a draft work horse, but more of a quarter horse, it will get tired more quickly carrying the same load the draft horse can carry 5 times as long...

When I was thinking about getting a plow for my '06 5.4L Screw, I was told I need a 2" level and to use a poly (plastic? I forget the name they used)plow instead of a steel plow, because of the weight. Other plow manufacturers don't recommend z plow on the Screw, only Scabs and standard cabs.

those are fords heavy duty springs with those and the timbrens the truck will carry the plow fine. I have been plowing snow with a F150 since 1989 with no problems the last 12 with a 97 and now a 08. just have to remember its a truck with a plow not a bulldozer. The plow does not hurt the truck the person driving the truck does.
