Please Help- Driver's Unlock Switch
Hey guys,
First off I should mention that I really appreciate all the help/ideas that is generated off this site. I've been a member for a while, slowly taking in all the advice. Now, if you could, I really need some help.
A while back I installed a sub in my 2004 F150 Supercrew and ran the wires under the carpet from the passenger side firewall to under the backseat. I'm not sure if I clipped a wire or what but now my driver's side door unlock does not work. The switch does not illuminate but the lock function on that side does work. All my other switches work perfectly, even the unlock/lock switch on the passenger side. My remote keypad also works perfectly, unlocking the driver's side door and all other doors. The unlock feature on my remote key fob does not work, while the lock feature will. I have checked all my fuses and, unless I missed one, they are all fine. I have disconnected the battery thinking it could be a security issue, which didn't do anything. What did I mess up and how do I fix it?

How long after you ran the wires and re-assembled did the lock stop working properly? Did your illumination previously work? Have you inspected all areas where you may have damaged a wire (i.e. the areas where panel clips may have come into contact with wiring). Maybe your door lock actuator has just died? When pressing the unlock on your remote or on the switch itself, can you hear anything to indicate that maybe it is trying to unlock it?
I actually never took the doors apart, I only installed a sub under the rear seat. I had disconnected the battery when I was wiring the amp and once I reassembled that it wasn't working. There is no indication that the actuator has gone bad, since the "lock" function works on that side but there is no sound when trying to "unlock". Also, there is no illumination on that switch.
