Ok looked on the inside of box nothing but the wires coming from the amp. Inside the amp it is extremely dirty what would be the best way to clean it? Also could this be why I am having problems?

Are you the original owner? If not, it's possible that a previous owner replaced the factory NAV (made by pioneer), with another that perhaps did not have the factory subwoofer option enabled?

I know folks that buy the factory NAV units have sent them off to specialty radio repair businesses (google for them) to have features turned on (I.E. the ability for the Factory NAV to play DVD/Movies, or to have a backup camera feature enabled). Maybe the subwoofer option was also a feature that needed to be enabled?
Not sure, but tossing this out as a possibility.

You never stated you bought a used sub...maybe it just don’t work... test the sub itself.
