Default Plastic around bed looking terrible

Has anyone come up with a good way to restore the dark gray color to the plastic around pickup bed? My 04 is really looking bad. I have tried shoe polish and shoe dye and ended up taking it off once I got it on. I have tried plastic restorer from the parts store and nothing seems to work. I am now thinking of painting the plastic? I'm open for suggestions.

Thanks

Armor-All could help, silicone lubricant form the parts store, or just go buy new plastics

I recently put Showroom New on some of my plastic trim pieces. At first I wasn't too impressed with the results because it seemed streaky in some areas and looked good in others. I then applied a couple applications of hyperdressing (what I always use to dress my trim) and man was I impressed. The results were the trim produced a darker and wetter look than it ever had in the past. Showroom New is a dye and not just a dressing.

Wish I would have gotten some before shots, but I didn't. Trust me these shots also don't come close to showing the true darkness and wet look (although they are completely dry) look of these pieces.

Try Turtle wax ICE. If it is already turning colors bad you will need to rub it in a bit. But after that you will notice a BIG difference. Plus it will protect from there on. I use it about once a month on mine and it looks like new.

My toolbox has gotten some pretty bad chips in the paint so some time in the near future I will be removing it aswell as the bed rails. For the bed rails I have seen good results with Krylon Fusion so I'm going to give it a try, hoping for a more permanent solution.
