So I found a guy online to tint all my windows for 180$ if I paid cash. I got it done and when I picked up my truck it looked great. When I got home I noticed some marks in one of the windows and it turns out that it's scratched in a few places on the outside. Since I paid cash I have a feeling that when I call this guy he will tell me ethier it wasn't him or they were there already. I have no reciept and I feel like a dumbass now. Is there anyway to fix these scratches without having to replace the window?

I think you should call him first. You never know he might take care of it.

Depends on how deep they are. If you can feel them with your fingernail, too deep. If you can't feel them hardly at all, try Meguires ScratchX or SpotX from Home Depot.

If you have a regular or extended cab truck, you just got ripped the hell off. I will be getting my wife's 2007 Mazda6 done for $190 for all 5 windows as well as a strip on the windshield. That is also at a reputable shop with a nationwide lifetime warranty.

Around here, they charge by window, not the size of the window so an Extended cab would be the same as a crew cab. I got my front two windows and a strip done for $120 which may seem a lil high, but it's from the best tinters within 200 miles, and they have a 90 day warranty so......

If he got all 5 windows and a strip done for $180 the price is about right, if he got two windows and a strip done he did get ripped off.

Yeah here the next lowest was 260 out of every shop i called in a 20 mile radius. Everything here (seattle) costs more then average. Theres really only one deep mark, which resembles a small rock chip, the rest are fine scratches. Im calling the guy this afternoon, maybe he will do something.

Scratches CAN be repaired, along with cracks. I recently got a good sized rock thrown up at the lower passenger side windshield. Called the insurance company, as I figured I'd get a free windshield replacement; found out that Texas is not the same as Florida. In Florida, a windshield is replaced for free, no deductable. So, the insurance company did say they can send someone out to repair the crack. I was sceptacle, but figured I had nothing to loose. The person showed up, poured resin into the crack, heated it with a floresant lamp, and went on their way. You cannot see the crack!!! It also works for scratches too.

You did not say where these scratches are; inside or outside? If they are inside, then it sounds as if the window tinter did it somehow (don't know how though). If they are on the outside, chances are they where there, and you are now noticing them, as the tint will make them show more so than non-tinted windows.

Scratches on the glass? He may have used the wrong kind of blade, stainless blades won't scratch glass and he may of used a blade that would.

^True.

If the glass is scratched on the outside I don't see how he could have done it. There aren't any tools I can think of that he should be using that could scratch a window like that, especially if it's on the middle on the glass and not right on an edge.
