Is that just what it govern outs at? Mine doesnt till about 101mph. Soo i dont really know why.

+1... I've never even got my truck up past or near 85.... Who would want to do that... That's a accident waiting to happen... If you wanna break the sound barrier I would suggest he get a car that's built for speed and a lower center gravity...

Most if not all programmers have the option to turn off the speed limiter, but like was mentioned earlier, not sure why u would need to go that fast in a truck. If u need to go fast, buy a crotch rocket. That will get you 160+ easily. On a closed course that is.

Most likely set in the PCM by Ford, to help you from detonating your engine. Ask your local Ford service department if this is the case.
Should you decide to obtain a tuner and have this limit removed, drive at your own risk, and don't blame Ford if/when your engine takes a dive south....
