Also it required reprogram at deal but that was only $125 and since I only have 1 key originally they had to make another but still it was only $30 for the key I think. If you install it yourself you could pay a little over $200-$250. Good luck!

Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered a pcm with 2 programmed keys from protech auto systems. They seemed very knowledgeable on the 04-08 f150 pcm's. The guy said I should receive it in about a week. I will keep everyone posted on how all this goes. I hope it all goes well. I just want my truck to have its power back and to run nice and smooth the way it use to. Wish me luck guys! 👍

Default Where is the mileage stored?

Hey guys, so I got my pcm and keys in the mail and probably going to swap it out this week. Just curious about one thing that I forgot to ask before. Is the current mileage of my truck stored in the pcm that I am taking out or will it be stored in the cluster?

It's stored in the cluster module.

What did you pay for it? I noted O'Reillys has Cardone remans for around $550. Of course it has to be programmed for the truck/keys.

I ended up swapping out the pcm yesterday then started up and ran for about 15 minutes to relearn throttle. Runs sooo much better so far. I took for about a 20 minute drive and still have a slight shudder on light throttle at about 90-100 km/h. Started looking into everything again and it looks like I have a bad plug on cylinder 5 as well so I'm going to replace with a new plug and see what happens. 👍

Default Update

Ok guys so here is my update. so as i said in the last post i swapped out the pcm on saturday let it run about 15 minutes to relearn the throttle position. it was running good but still not how it should have been. I ended up tracing it back to a bad spark plug on cylinder #5. I went to the dealer today and bought a new plug, installed it when i got home and wow the truck runs sooooo smooth now. I think it runs better now than it did when i first bought the truck 7 years ago. So i guess what was going on was the bad coil driver in the pcm for cylinder #6 and the bad plug on cylinder #5 was the cause of it running really ****ty the past little while. Now just hopefully the truck keeps running the way it is.

I just want to say thanks to anyone that has helped me out over the past few weeks with this and given their input on my situation. It has all been very much appreciated.
