Can anyone just name off some companies that sell programmed pcm's? Like I said already I would just like some company names so I can do done research before I purchase a new pcm.

If it keeps you away from FS1, then I say it's done its job. Cardone is another option, you'll just have to find a shop that has flash/programming capabilities. Some things are just worth going to the dealer though...

I think it's also like that to prevent theft...

Yes I agree some things are better going to the dealer for but when they want an insane amount of money for it then is it really worth it?

My local ford dealwe wants $1800 For the pcm plus an hour labor which is $145 plus taxes....all said and done would end up being between $2200 And $2500......dont really have that just kicking around right now.

But is it worth it to pay $500 (I don't know what FS1 is asking) and then still have a truck that doesn't run, and then pay the dealership anyway on top of the $500 that FS1 got from you? I understand your situation I had to come up with $3100 for a timing job a couple months ago. You get what you pay for most of the time.

I'm definitely not going with fs1....thats why I have been trying to find some other companies to research before forking out any cash.

Default Pro Tech Auto Systems

Just curious if anyone on here has dealt with Pro Tech Auto Systems based out of Fort Lauderdale Florida for a PCM Replacement? Or if anyone knows somebody that has dealt with them?

I have tried doing some research and haven't really come up with anything bad like I did with FS1. Pro Tech Auto Systems is a bit more pricey though.

If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 👍

Check a junk yard and match the vin numbers or buy one from ford, can't go wrong with one from ford even though I hate to say buying anything from them

Exactly, I wonder if the PCM you buy from Ford comes with a 2 year warranty like other parts now?

All I'm going to say is that I ordered from Flagship1 in December when I was troubleshooting the CEL I got. FS1 service was good and the unit worked, but I didn't ultimately get the results I wanted**

Long story short:
The auto repair shop I took my truck to told me the PCM was bad and wanted nearly $900 to replace it. I found Flagship1 while doing an online search to find a replacement.

I looked up all the info they need, VIN#, Model/Year, Part Number and Serial number on the PCM. I called FS1 directly, gave them the info, bought the unit. $275.00

After arrival, I went to a key shop to get the new blank keys cut to match the original key I have (different PCM = different anti-theft code = different key required). The new keys are already programmed, they just need to be cut so they will match turn ignition in the steering column.

After the keys were cut, I replaced the PCM, and everything cranked on fine.

**However the CEL codes came back, which means the original PCM was good. So the auto repair shop didn't diagnose it right. But that's not FS1's fault. Still better than dropping nearly $900 down and having the same problem.

Hey if you haven't picked one up yet let me know and I will dig up the link. My post is the one summers22 linked to up a few posts back. I found a NEW ECM for under $100 on Ebay from peterbuilt I think the name is. It was a great deal and they offer a 1 year warranty for like $12.50. Best of luck!
