Default Pats question

I replaced the steering column in my 2004 f150 5.4 lariat. I bought the truck with the ignition cylinder broken out of it, so i replaced the entire column that had a key with it, i reused that switch with the transceiver also. I also replaced the fuel pump driver module and my theft light keeps blinking rapidly. So my question is would the new/used ignition i replaced be the problem or does the transceiver have to match the truck to work?

Is there a way i can bypass the pats system so i can use the key for the ignition in the steering column I replaced? Ive also read that a programmer can do it, is that true? Has anyone ever done this? I have no original key for the truck...

It will cost, but you can get a new key cut at the dealership to match the VIN number of the truck. You just have to bring in the appropriate paperwork (title and maybe registration in your name).

Then just have the VIN key located some where in the truck where it can be sensed and you can use your other key.

Or I'm assuming you can have it programmed for the keys with your new steering column... not sure what will be cheaper?

When does the theft light blink? When it's on? When it's off?

2004 is too far back for ford to get a key code. We can only go back to 2008

I remember a thread on here where a guy said he spent 2k at the dealer because his theft light was blinking. Even though it's normal. Everyone in that thread was clueless as to what the OP was thinking.

Blinking rapidly is the key word
