Default Part Identification

While working on my 2005 F150 5.4 Triton today, I accidentally broke off a hose connection from an all black plastic item mounted on the right side of the firewall . It appears to be some sort of air diverter, although it looks like a manual clutch fluid cylinder. It does have an inspection lid. Could someone tell me what this part is called so that I can order a replacement?
Thank You

Do you have a pic? Might make it a lil easier to make it out.

It is some sort of solenoid. Either the fuel tank, 4x4, or emmisions. I purchased some epoxy for plastic and glued the parts back together. I guess we will see hhow well it works tomorrow.
Thanks for the replies. Next time I will be better prepaired with pictures.
