Default Pa System

Anyone have a PA system? I would like to see where y'all put the speaker and how you wired it up!

I have a PA system installed in my response truck. Its a Code 3 Setup but its old school. Instead of messing with mounting brackets, I just industrial zipped tied mine to the bracket right underneath the temp sensor on top of the cooler. I do not know if you are with a fire department or not, but check to see if it is legal to have it in your state. If you look up the manufacturer of your siren box or PA box, then they should have a PDF of the wiring installation. Its not that hard to do. I had mine set up in about twenty minutes.

I got one from Radioshack. Everything in total was under $80. I ran it through my center console. I could have hooked it up to an accessory fuse but I got lazy and ran it straight from the 12v cigarette lighter right there. Only downside is I have to remember to turn it off. Not that bad IMO. Also the way I positioned the horn it's not too loud when the truck is on because the engine drone drowns it out a little bit. It's not insanely loud but it works for my purposes (yelling at kids in the parking lots at school )

Ignore the clutter

Thanks! That looks good, I'm probably going to go to radio shack this weekend to check it out.
