Default Overhead Rail Storage System

What does this feature do for those that have the overhead rail storage system? I would like to see any modifications of this storage.

It seems like a real cool idea and system. Nice modular design and cool things you can easily add to your truck. My question is can it be (easilyt) added to a truck that didn't come with it. (So far the answer seems to be no)

Thumbs down

I have it, seemed cool. However, there isn't much for aftermarket.
I think its, Brandmotion sells some attachments.

However, I want a overhead, fold down, monitor.
I can hook to my in-dash DVD player. The only one I find, has a built in player.

Do a search, its been talked about previously.

I wouldn't get it again at this point.

I did search for this subject, but did not find the topic. Probably the way I worded the search.

How do you know if the rail system is wired or in other words how do you know if you need a wiring harness?

Yes you can add it to a truck that doesn't have it. There are many different models of it too. You can get a rail system with all storage places or you can get a system with 2 monitors and a storage bin. I've seen them installed and me and a buddy installed one in his 2008 Expedition. It's freakin' sweet if you ask me. We made it go from about 2 inches in front of the windshield to right in front of the 3rd seat. He has 3 monitors hooked to it. The wiring was the hardest part but it was actually pretty easy.

And Tungston, check out Audiovox monitors. They have monitors without the dvd players in them for around $500. They have 7" screens all the way up to 15" screens.

Feel free to ask questions as we did the install a few weeks ago. He's helping me build my Trans Am so I'm doing a complete audio/video system on his Expedition.

Trans Am huh? What year? I used to own 3 at different times of my life. My all time favorite ride was the '77 with the SD455. I wish I never sold it.

That car got me in more trouble.....

Triton,
Help me out. I just spent another half hour checking around. I was "Not" able to find rail system screens, w/o DVD players.

I checked Audiovox, Jensen, and googled a bunch of word combinations.

Thanks inadvance,

I REALLY DO NOT recommend this online car audio/video site but they do have some good deals. Apparently Audiovox quit making the monitors without the dvd player because I had one in my Malibu. I can't seem to find anything on Alpines website either. I did find one on Crutchfield's website but it's only a 8.2" screen.
