Default Overhead Console Bulbs

2005 F150. This one just has the two lamps and sunglass holder. Everything I've found says it just pulls down. I've done pulling just shy of doing a pull up. Is it really that tight or am I missing something. I've pulled and squeezed on both sides of the rear simultaneously and seems as though the headliner wants to come with it.

Looks like this one without the center switch.

Yep, it pulls straight down. It is a tight fit but I had no problem pulling mine down.

I was worried with mine too. Get your fingers in between the console and the headliner and pull down. It uses the same clips that hold the bezel on around the radio I believe.

Yep same clips as the radio bezel. He does make it look easier than it really is.

Thanks. I guess I just needed reassurance.

In these pictures you can see where the clips are. If it has never been taken out it will be pretty stubborn. Start at an end..kinda pull and shake it..it will let go.

It's so much easier using 2 pry bars, the little ones that are like 6-8" long. Put the short side in using both bars and pry on them, fingers are not the right tool until you've pulled it down a couple of times.

Start at the back and work your way to the front closest to the lights. That'll help you see where the clips are, and going back up is a breeze.

That's not a suggestion I would get on board with. If you do use a steel pry bar on a plastic molded shroud be very careful! Mine was VERY VERY tight. I doubt it had ever been removed but I got it down with my fingers. I recommend fingers. But its your truck so take your pick.
