Overhead bin question
04 Screw with overhead storage on AL rails.
Got truck as Salvage/Theft Recovery. Many things apart / left unfinished.
Rear mounting flange for rails not bolted to roof panel.
Roof has been covered in Dynamat sound deadening covering any attachment points..
Can anyone tell me what kind of attachment I'm looking for? Where?
How many points? What type of screws/bolts?
Thanks!

Can anyone describe how the tracks are attached to the roof panel?
Are the 2 end plastic "brackets" bolted to the roof?
Are there other attachments midway (other than the butterfly clips) ?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Unlimited.
There are 4 "butterfly" clips that hold the rails to the headliner, but nothing except the A/B/C trim panels, sun visors and door weather stripping to support the headliner.
Thanks for checking!

if you haven't seen this video, perhaps you will find it useful. Looks like the the rails are the only thing that hold up the headliner in the middle, and you would need to hold it up and push the rails toward the rear to lock them into where they go...then insert screws at the ends
needsmoarturbo,
Yes I have seen that. Thanks.
@ 1:30 he says when you push the rails forward to unlock them, the headliner drops.
But, on my truck there is nothing to "lock" the headliner to the roof. Only these butterfly clips that rest on top on the headliner and clip to the rail through holes in the headliner. They are NOT attached to the roof.
I would assume there should be support attached to the roof at the front (there is) AND the rear (there's NOT)
If that was the case, I would be fine with no roof attachment in the middle.

Might have to see if there are any pick n pull type salvage yards in your area to go find a rear bracket off of. Thats what I would do around here anyway... they didn't just put the sound deadener over the bracket and its still there?
