mine shifts 5 times with od off, so im thinking the tc is starting to slip or the clutches are getting worn.

The trans actually locks the TC in second and third with OD off so it can feel like its shifting more. The trans will not go past third gear though with OD off

I have the same symptom on my 2002 F150 with 105,000 miles. The truck feels it slips. When I turn the Overdrive off, the problem goes away. I turn Overdrive on and the slipping begins. It's like the truck is trying to slip in and out of overdrive. There are no error codes or check engine light.

Thanks
