i have an 08 f150 5.4 with 20k miles on it and i was cruising down the freeway (70 mph) and all of a sudden it kicked out of gear and was acting as if it was in nuetral so i pushed in the o/d button and it kicked back in gear but without the button pushed it wont go past 50 without falling out of gear, anyone had this happen?

 

My dads truck had the same thing happen and his needed a new transmission but I do believe i read somewhere that something can go wrong with the O/D switch but I don't remember for sure. My dads truck lost 4th gear but it has 160,000 on it but it would do the same thing as soon as it shifted to 4th it would be like it was in nuetral but you could still drive it fine with o/d off
