Default Outer grill liner

Two questions:
1. I took off my bug guard I had on and after I put the grill and all that back on I noticed that it rattles now when I close it or hit, how do I fix that?

2. Has anyone painted the part that goes around your grill? If so what steps did you do to prep it?

Not sure about the rattle, but I painted the surround on mine. I used primer and the painted matte black over it with rattle can for plastic. I scuffed the surround with a scotch brite pad, and cleaned it before painting.

Thanks! I just prefer less chrome on MY truck. The most time consuming part was taking the surround off. Painting and scuffing was easy.

I've been wanting to do that. I'm assuming you kept the emblems on your truck and just masked off the area around it?

Exactly! Had to over a lot of my truck due to overspray but it was worth it!
