How hard was it to access the oil pressure switch to install the T? Also, what are you going to do with the Glowshift adapter since its still there in the picture? (Note: Apparently the ports on the adapter allow reads of inlet pressure and not outlet)

There is _actually_ another subtle (and perhaps far more important) advantage to connecting an Oil Pressure as @Mulestang says.

The 'ports' on the Glowshift Oil Filter Adapter are in the "PRE FILTER" side, which will give you oil pressure between the oil PUMP and FILTER. There is pressure drop in the FILTER - and you have NO IDEA what the oil pressure is in the lower end where rod / main bearings are. If your filter is partially clogged up, or oil is thick / cold - you have no idea what your _engine_ oil pressure is. (And I have MINE connected to a Glowshift Oil Filter Adapter).

I understand transmission has a plugged / unused port for installing temp gauge. Good move.

Yeah, the port is on the drivers side of the transmission labelled "test port" or something like that. As for the T, I need a 1/4" size, right?

It was very easy to install the T. I removed the Glowshift adapter just after taking the picture. I left it in place in the event the T didn't fit.

Say... what if I remotely mounted the pressure sending unit close by on the frame or something so it isn't being affected by engine vibrations. Apparently these Autometer sending units do not last long, especially when connected directly to the engine, according to Amazon comments. (Though, users on Summit Racing don't seem to have problems.)

The issues mentioned on the Amazon page for the 2242 Autometer unit is probably due to over tightening.

Maybe I'm just worrying too much.

You could do that, but the more connections you create, the more opportunities for leaks. I've has good success with Autometer senders.

Just get an Edge and it lets you display 4 parameters at the same time, engine oil being one of them. Also has trans temp.

It would be the most painless way to do it. Can get a used one for $150 probably.

That's the route I use; no tune, just gauges. Including average mpg (which I've found actually under-reports mpg).

I did the same thing. Well worth the peace of mind to know it isn't wrong.

Got the oil pressure gauge in, and the T (waiting on the transmission temp gauge and side pillar mount). Need to buy some wiring. That yellow wire is 12ga, probably too thick (Autometer says to use 18ga). I've had that sitting around in a drawer for several years.

As for switched ignition power, the recommendation is fuse 22 in the fuse box?
