Default Oil Changes? Syth vs Reg?

Ok, so i have a 2006 F150 5.4 V8. bone stock engine.
I do admit, i am a tad rough on it though. So i got a couple questions.

So i have been thinking of throwing Sythetic into it next oil change(couple weeks from now) it has almost 16000 miles. I do make sure i change it every 3 thousand though. Would this be a good idea to go synthetic??

Also, which oil would you say?? I work with a motorcycle shop and one of our reps was talking to me bout some oil i could use in the truck, the stuff is called Rock Oil XRP. it is actually for 4stroke engines but he said a few guys have ran it in their cars that they drive miles and miles on and it seems to work awsome. at 20$ a liter retail it better be!!

any help would be awsome thanks.

I use Mobil 1 5W30 Synthetic but will be switching to 5W20 next go round. I would go with a synthetic if I were you especially since you admit you are rough on it.

With 3K changes you can just use the 5 w 20 Motorcraft or as suggested the Mobile 1. I use the mobile 1 along with a K&N gold filter as was suggested to me by a master F150 guru. At $20.00 a qt. the motorcycle oil, on a stock engine, with 3K between changes is way over the top IMHO. It's your truck so you can of couse do as you wish. Welcome and good luck.

Sorry JohnC, it's gettin kind of late & you lost me there...are you saying that oil changes every 3K is good, or that it is too frequent in your opinion? If you are saying that it is too frequent, how often would you prescribe to have it done? And at under $20 a pop, does it really hurt anything to get an oil change every 3K...I mean, isn't it better to just err on the side of caution?
