Got a 05 f150 fx4 w/5.4 engine. Was wondering what type of engine oil yall would recommend. I have been using stuff from napa. any thoughts??

 

Someone gave me a case of 10W30 Mobil One
That's my next 2 oil changes, 5w20 before this

 

5w30 full synthetic

 

Motorcraft 5w20 is cheap at walmart, and decent oil.

I am a bit stuck on what to do for my own oil change.

I was about to change mine myself but time and knowledge of the truck are holding me back at the moment so I was panning to have Jiffy Lube do it. The one I go to seems pretty good and run by a real mechanic.

Just got my truck last week, and realized they put some sort of blended Valvoline in it. I am not a Valvoline fan so I want to change it to Mobil 1 5w-20, because I run everything on Mobil 1. However after a bunch of reading I am wondering if I should use Motorcraft. This would require me to learn how to do the oil myself, I plan to anyway, just sooner than expected.

I guess the question is Motorcraft or Mobil 1?

I agree, you can't go wrong with either one.

 

Ouch! MC is $17 for 5 quarts here (in Alabama), M1 is normally $28, but on sale most of the time for $22. If you don't mind waiting a few days, you can buy your oil off Amazon and have it shipped for less than that.
