dude im an oil changer, ya its a job for a moron but i deal with this stuff every day. it makes me sick to see a newer car come in with black gunk all over the rockerarms!! and they always run pennzoil. but the valv and cast cars oil looks better comin out than the other crap does goin in!!
Actually I use Schaeffer's 7000 series, so that is what you get for ASSuming. I understand you are a lube tech, but do you have any idea what I do for a living? If you want to know why they have junk on the valvetrain is because the oil has been used to the point of no TBN being present anymore so it burns and cakes onto the valvetrain and other parts of the engine.

No they don't,you are talking out of your ***** again. They will void the warranty if you don't use the same specification of oil or something better. If you are gonna be a lube tech, please educate yourself in your line of work.

So your 300K Dodge was properly maintained is what you are trying to say?

LMAO....Hmmm look under the hood of a Vette. Does my father's Corvette count for me to do that? Or do you have a particular year that you would prefer? Big Block engine, Small block, LS, etc.....Or should I look under the hood of a Callaway Twin Turbo or any of the other tuner vette's?

Seriously, you are getting worked up because you don't know what you are talking about. Things happen, people make mistakes and you learn from them. If you can't admit when you are wrong, you are gonna have a tough time in life and probably get really upset and break a few keyboards on your forum surfing adventures....Remember INTERNET is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Communist, hardly....I didn't vote for Obama

There are clues blatantly obvious as to where I work, open your eyes. I have worked in shops almost as long as you have been alive I am sure. I am guessing(and i could be wrong) that you are 18-20 and work at a jiffy lube or Wally world express or something along those lines?

BTW.... You realize the Penzoil Platinum and Penzoil Ultra are probably some of the best synthetic oils you can get if you are on a budget......Might need to change your outlook on things.

IBTL!!!!

Oh wait...
Jamesyarbrough- you got your answer in the first 5 posts of this thread. You CAN run it but you will see decreased fuel economy. As for what brand oils work best in these trucks, use the search function and pick from any one of the 9,000 threads that come up about it. Most of them ended up just like this one... locked.
