in my opinion, it takes more ***** and skill to off road a 2wd than i 4x4, especially if you don't get stuck. i never rag on my 2wd friends, cause if done right a 2wd can almost off road just as good as a 4x4, and in some cases better

Its all about the driver in most cases.. Someone that knows how to drive can go further in a 2wd than a idiot in 4wd. I've been stuck 1 time in my 2wd and 4wd wouldnt have gotten me out. I go mudding alot.. (or did aint been much in the last year)

Same with snow... Good set of tires and locker...

Only time i regret not having 4wd is when im lazy.. Or trying to go through my property without getting my truck muddy or rip up my land...

Exactly what im saying! Im plannin on getting some nitto terra grapplers maybe trails instead not sure yet, before i go offroading to be safe. Other than that ive driven through a lot in 2wd like mud and snow but havent taken my f150 out yet due to low tread on my tires.

What do you mean by locker?

So i just thought of this, i ordered an edge evo CS and well i was curious if say i put it on the towing setting or a different setting do you think that would improve the offroading capabilities?

i'd say go with the nitto trail grapps, that extra tread depth will help with a 2wd off roading. plus they look mean as hell

If you want better tires for going offroad in mud, I would reccomend buying 2 mud terrains for your rear axle and leave your front wheels with street tires. Even though it would look weird, the mud tires would just drag on the front end and you wouldn't be able to clean the lugs on the front wheels anyways. More economical too, saw farmers with 2wd trucks do that all the time back in the day. If you want, use the money you would have spent buying the other 2 Mud Terrains for your front end and spend it on 2 spare wheels to mount the mud terrains on and swap them out for your rear wheels when you decide to go mudding.

Just an idea.

I never run mud tires on the front.. On the front i just buy the cheapest tire about the same size as the rear...

I've always wanted to take my truck in the mud. But, been to scared since the damn thing is so heavy! (also wouldn't want to have to call my buddy with a 2500hd to pull me out)

But if y'all are saying they can handle it, I'm willing to try it out! I always figured I'd get stuck in grass if it just rained...
