Default OEM Trailer Brake Controller?

So I have a 2007 F150 FX4 SCREW with the 5.4 and was wondering if anyone else with a truck similar to mine has the OEM trailer brake controller and how you like it? I have been wanting to add it to my truck and I was wondering if anyone else has done this or if it is possible? Where exactly does it mount on my truck and can anyone help me out with some part numbers? I have searched but cannot find the info relevant to my truck. Thanks

Get a Tekonsha Prodigy P2... plugs right into the factory harness and does a great job. There is a little tab on the left hand side by the e-brake handle that you can mount it to. thats where I have mine and it works flawlessly.

I have the harness but no controller. Came in the glovebox when I bought the truck. I'd like to know if I can use just any controller or if I need an OEM controller?

You can pretty much use any controller. I use a Tekonsha Prodigy and love it. The harness connecter that comes with the truck will plug into the harness and then splice to the wires from the brake controller. Tekonsha sells ($15 or so) a connecter that plugs into the factory harness in the same place and then plugs into the Prodigy. No splicing needed.

Still not answering the OP's real question... but I wouldn't bother with the extra cash for the OEM. Once calibrated, the Tekonsha P3 is as smooth as it gets.

I took my truck (it's actually a 2007 Mark Lt) to a local dealer here in Denver last week to have the OEM controller installed. He said there isn't one for the 2007 model year.
