Default Oem Fog light socket replacement

Passenger fog light keeps going out intermittently. Bulb works as I compared it to the driver side. The socket looks like it has slight corrosion inside it, cleaned as best as i could with electronic cleaners. Where can I find replacement oem sockets.

Advance and Autozone carry an assortment of them.

I would bet anything you could get it off amazon and it would most likely be hell of a lot cheaper then big name auto stores

Hi.

Go to a wrecker/recycler and cut yerself a couple off ( or take the harness ).

IF oyu want high-quality new ones, get 'em from TRS: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/acc...l#.Uvd_dfvAFc8

Order a pair of 9006 females with pigtails. $5 each with known good quality.

If one is corroding, the other one is sure to follow - I'd chnage 'em both.

Remember to ALWAYS use dielectric grease in all of these connectors that are exposed.

good luck

Ok cool. I ordered 2 new sockets from auto zone yesterday. Just incase the other goes out right behind it.
What's the next brightest light bulb that's still stock but brighter.

Hi.

Stock is 9140. You can safely go to a 9145 with no melting concerns.

I will not recommend a jump to 9005's since they run hot and can burn reflectors and lenses. Plus they glare like no tomorrow ( no bulb cap).

Having said that, some folks do run 'em. - '04, '05 trucks with the large fogs seem able to withstand the heat. '06 and up - bad juju. No guarantees - you've been warned, lol.

Another option: http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/drl-f...45-1-pair.html

These run cool - have less output and are meant primarily for looks.

good luck
