I just did this today. Bought my truck used and realized the odometer/trip screen was not lit up. I had originally thought it was the screen itself until I found this thread.

Some info:

The bulb size for this is a #37 bulb. Mine came in a 2 pack.
You don't actually need to remove the metal knee panel with the 4 aluminum screws.

If you have shifting on the steering column you will have a cable that goes from the column up to the back of the dash cluster. It's kind of a pain in the *** because you can't simply remove the cluster to work on it. I haven't attempted to remove the cable but I ended up changing out my bulb with the cable still attached.

The PRND12 shift selector in your cluster comes out very easily if you look under it wher the cable goes into there are 2 black tabs one on each side simply pinch those tabs in towards each other and it slides out. Then you can remove the cluster out it in a table and pull the whole thing apart and put tape or something over the dinger and make it much more quite. Just did that yesterday as the led airbag light is burnt out and there's no replacing the light but it causes my dinger to go 25 times every 30 min

Wow i was just commenting how having that lamp our drives me nuts, perfect timing. I have the standard XLT dash but the process should be similar. Do you happen to know the part number/type of bulb. I am considering replacing them all so I wont need to do it again for a while, maybe they make an LED version that will last forever!

I can't remember if it's a #37 or #47. It is a tiny bulb. Make sure you have a 5.5mm socket. It makes it a lot easier.
