Default Not safe when this happens on freeway

so i was heading to school and i started hearing metal to metal noise coming from my front brakes, and every time i hit the brakes the noise went away. so i got to school and called my dad and he said to bring it to him when i get out of class and drive slow and safe...drove it to his shop, lifted it and saw this

top bolt flew off some how, he blames it on the big tires and off roading i do, but w.e if it was going to happen then it was meant to happen right hahaha

thank god nothing bad happened, and we ended up finding an OEM bolt and fixed it

X2....that and following the recommended torque requirements for fasteners found in good repair manuals. If the brakes were done by a shop, I'd point this out to them and find a new shop.

MAN!!!! This has happened to me TWICE! The first time I didnt have my wheel spacers on yet, so when I hit the brake (my bottom bolt was out, passenger front) THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. I let off, everything was fine. Tap the brakes, ever so gently... THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. I let off and use the ebrake to stop. I go look and this is what I saw (see pic).

Every spoke has that damage from the rear on it. Damn caliper was rubbing on every one. So after going to Ford (not Lowes, Home Depot, Sears Hardware had the 14mm bolt) I put that crappy rim on the back and put a new bolt on. Then a few months ago it happens AGAIN! atleast this time is just knocked off the weights since I had my spacers on. Atleast they were just discount tire rims. lol

well my dad owns his shop so we do all the work but i changed my brakes about a year and half ago when i got my truck but i didnt take apart the 2 big bolts, i took apart the 2 small ones that take only the caliper off, we didnt resurface the rotors that time. dad said next time we do a brake change we will just change the rotors as well so we didnt take the whole thing apart
