Noobie
Hello all, new to the forum here. I owned a 2004 F-150 for about 5 years and then sold it for a jeep wrangler that I kept for like 5 minutes
I'm wanting to get back in another F150, but a 4x4 supercrew this time. I posted a link to one I drove I found on CL. Any recommendations or things to watch out for on the 5.4s or 04-08s?

I found it interesting that it appears they used a polarizing filter in a few pics, but also do not appear to have correct exposure, then the shadows/poor lighting inside the cab make it difficult to see the inside. I know, not really what you wanted to know...
Plugs, do ask if they have been changed, also, maintenance records and what oil/filters used, etc. Find out if it has been maintained.

I'd recommend taking any used vehicle to your local mechanic and have them check it out. Never hurts to have a second pair of eyes look at it.
Be sure to check that the 4wd works properly and the suspension components aren't making any noise. If they are, it may need some ball joints ect.

The guy did tell me that the lower ball joints were in need of replacement deemed so by a shop. I test drove this one, but did not try out the 4x4. I plan on driving it again and testing that and listening for any other things you guys suggest. I've heard some things about cam problems but this one is a 5.4 so I don't know if that applies to this motor.
Thanks for the advice guys!! I really appreciate it!
