Default NOOB / First Thread / AC Question

Het guys, first time posting, long time Ford family / Lincoln owner. I was given my late grandfather's ordered Lincoln Mark LT (2006) with 30K original miles. Been a while since I was in a Ford but this AC system seems to take a while to cool down. I have had my technicians look at the AC system and there are no leaks, Freon is where it needs to be, and the compressor seems to be working as designed etc. It just seems to take a little while to blow cold air. As compared to my '13 Sierra that blows ice cold from the minute you start it. This LT takes a little while and with everything seeming to be in factory working condition is there something I am missing or is this normal behavior?

Same as mine.
After a cold start, it'll a few minutes for the cold air to kick in.
Engine needs to warm up to normal operating temp.

Since I got my truck in 2008, I've have not had any A/C problems.
However, my truck is over 10 years old now.
I'm thinking of taking it in to do a free A/C check.

These trucks notoriously don't have the coolest of Ac's around. Just completely rebuilt mine due to compressor failure, still feels the same. In 95 deg. weather, I can have the fan speed on 3 and be comfortable.

Hey Mark, thanks for the compliments. I just went through everything on this truck, plugs, wires, coolant, radiator flush, all fluids including the trans, everything greased and lubed, up, belt and hoses, filters, etc. Anything that was a serviceable item was touched. She runs great, smells like new, not a scratch on her anywhere, but this AC issue. I figured it was normal but the last ford I owned was a '99 F-250 with the split year Heritage body style. So it's been a while. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong or if this was normal. She blows cold once she has been running a little while. I use a Weather Tech sun shade cut to fit on the windshield and have illegal limo tint to help cut down on the UV. Being here in North Texas it stay HOT and takes a bit to cool down. Thanks again for the replies fellas!

Glad to hear you got the 2 piece spark plugs out of her... I hear you on the A/C my 94 F-150 would freeze me out of the cab on a 100 degree day.

Yeah, I agree normal behavior for the AC in these trucks. I believe it is related to engine coolant constantly flowing through the heater core. Other vehicles that I've owned have a coolant bypass valve that controls the amount of heat. Ford uses a blend door to only vary the air in the system.
