i just diped my wheels black, an would like to leave the hub cap off, can i also paint the actual hub black? are the hubs strong enough to take wear an tear or is that why there is a hub cap to begin with?

 

I have American Racing victor wheels and 35's....... They had a plastic hub cap that all my friends thought was the old style where you could step on the center cap because it was steel and bolted inbetween the hub and wheel.....

I removed my center caps after replacing three of them and painted my hubs charcol grey to match my wheels and while it doesn't look as good as the center caps- the paint has been fine..
