Default Nightshade on Headlights?

Hey guys as some of you know Im going for that custom look and self satisfaction of me doing it all. Anyway Im going to get some nightshade for the tails and do prob. 2 coats. Should I just use a scotch bright pad on them and then do the 2 coats and be good or do I need to then use the scotch bright when Im done, I want them just a little dark but not blacked out by any means but keep the gloss look. Then I got to thinking, rather than popping out my headlight covers and doing the inside black what would it look like if I do like just 1 coat of nightshade on the headlights. Anyone have a pic of what it will look like.

There are a few how-to's in the How To section I would recommend wet sanding the tail lights, and make sure to add plenty of coats of clearcoat to make them glossy (I mean like 7 or more coats! lol)

As for the headlights, I would stay away from tinting them at all... less light output isn't good IMO. Plus, it's hard to get to look right/even when the lights themselves are on.

Niteshades have a red color base, so when the brake lights show, it will still shine red, just darker. I did my tailights and third brake light with niteshade, but taped off my reverse lights and such so they could still be seen. Putting it on your headlights will give you red headlight beams instead of just darker light output...if I'm correct.

I have also been doing alot of research on the subject and i have found the rustolium brand lens tint is the best. You can get it at autozone and my friend did it on his truck, his dads and his friends and it all turned out great. With the rustolium brand one you dont need to sand paper em or anything and it turns out glossy and you can use em on headlights, fog lights and tail lights. I would not suggest doing your headlights with a lens tint on the outside, it doesnt look great and if you dont have bright bulbs or HID's i would suggest against it more. You might also get pulled over for it. But if you did decide to do it id use the rustolium one cause it doesnt have the red base. I did my fog lights with it and im going to do my tail lights i think. Heres a pic of my fogs and also do yall think i should black out my tails?? Btw the truck is charcoal grey all the way around the lighter color at the bottom is just the dirt.

Ok guys, so I did my tails anyway. They came out to just the right shade, not to dark and still plenty of red. I really like the color of them. Probelm is I put 2 clear coats on it and up close you can see where some areas are way more glossy than others. Should I let them dry and then add another coat and see if it evens up better.

Well here they are, Im pretty satisfied overall for my first time trying it out, they look great in the day but the right side tail has a smudge at the top but you can only see it at night with the lights on, its not really all that bad anyhow

Those look pretty good man. I have a white truck too and have been wanting to do that to my tails. Was that just two coats of niteshades?
