Default New user, window question

Hey all, new to the forum. I am looking at buying a 2004 Lariat and everything works beautifully on the truck with one exception, the passenger rear window. When the switch is pressed it not only doesn't move but there are no signs that the motor or regulator are working. The salesman grabbed the window and proceeded to say it was probably just "stuck". The window moves up and down about 1/4-1/2 an inch almost like it is not bolted to the track. Seeing as how I am new to this vehicle are there any common issues? I know this is just a message board and it is hard to know without seeing it but can anyone tell me what may need to be replaced? Or possibly a general cost of repair? All information is greatly appreciated!

I cannot comment on it being a common issue , but I replaced my Silverado's Window Regulator at the tune of 200 bucks. If you're buying from a dealership just get it in writing to be fixed. They should not let a sell go for 200 bucks and some time in there bay.

Possibly the switch? They are notorious for getting dirty and stop working. I've had five replaced, but they can be taken apart and cleaned I've read.

Thanks for the help. The dealer already told me "there isn't enough room in the deal to make the repair". But I have a hard time believing they would let me walk for a relatively cheap fix. If they refuse to fix it I guess it wouldn't be too hard of a fix from the write ups I've read online. There seems to be ample space in the door to repair any mechanics, is that an accurate assumption?

What kind of Deal are you getting for there no wiggle room for 200 bucks. i'd do it like this , I'd hand them my number tell them i'd buy the truck if the window worked and go home.

Walk away from it then. They will call you back in a couple days begging you to buy it with a fixed window. I did this with my first truck. It had a chipped front windshield that I didn't notice until it was almost too late.

If they are unwilling to work I would find another truck at another dealer or if its a ford dealer tell them you found the truck you want for the price but they are unwilling to deal... they may be able to do a dealer transfer with that same truck

They haven't been too helpful to this point and haven't budged much on the price so I definitely feel like I can get them to take care of it. If not its still a great deal on the truck, it's not the money at this point more the principle of the thing. I was just curious if they don't fix it and I decide to buy it what would be neccessary to repair it. Thanks for all the help and if you all have any more ideas on possible issues I would greatly appreciate it
