Default New shocks?

2006 ford f150 fx4 with 58k miles. have any of you guys ever replaced the shock absorbers on your truck before. Just curious, i mean replace them with OEM shocks for a better ride quality. i read a article saying that shocks should be replaced every 50k miles.

There are a lot of threads on this. Do a search. The most popular are the bilstein 5100s and rancho quicklift struts and 9000xl rear shocks are the most popular. I love my ranchos, but many people really like the bilsteins too.

X2, my Rancho's have served me extremely well. I am just now getting ready to replace them and am thinking very hard of just going with Rancho again.

I had a really good experience with Bilstein on my last truck. I hear a lot good about Rancho too. Don't feel bad- I have 290,000 on original factory shocks on my 2004 LOL. I just started to notice it's a little too bouncy, so I'll be getting some more soon too.

In looking to eventually upgrade my shocks on my 06 4.6L as it just hit 100k. What's the difference between the bilstein and ranchos? Also what is the difference between going with either of the 2 stated above and stock shock? Thanks!!

The Rancho 9000XL's are adjustable so you can set them how you like them as far as soft, firm or somewhere in the middle. I'm running OEM style Rancho's not the quicklifts. I do have a 2.5" leveling spacer with the Rancho struts up front. It made a big difference and I picked all four up for $180

Ok thanks for the info!! Just a few more ques. I'm also running a 2.5 level on mine. Are you shocks new and we here did you get the from? Also do you have the part numbers and for our trucks are they shocks all the way around? Last what's the ride quality composited to the stick shocks?
