Default New to this. P0012. P0345

I’ve had this ticking sound since I bought this and I’ve heard about cam phasers but hoping it could be some other issue. I’ve bought this truck with 217,000 miles. Replaced spark plugs, coils, Vct solenoids. I had a loss of power as I was accelerating around 25 mph. It felt like it didn’t wanna go. Drove it for awhile but one day It started running rough when I went to turn one day after driving 30 mins, I had these two codes pop up so I erased them and replaced the cam position sensor bank 2. The ticking stopped so I went to go take it for a drive and not even 2 minutes into driving it, the check engine light popped on then off and my car stopped running. I turned it completely off and started it again but ever since this ticking noise came back again and I drove it for about 5 mins and it drives like it did before. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Currently running 5w-20 for oil

What I hear in the video is to me Phaser knock. That is not an immediate death sentence. Neither is the occasional P0012 or P0345 popping up. But considering the mileage, those symptoms in conjunction with rough idle, loss of power, and dying are ALL positive indicators that a timing job is in the 'not too distant future'. If it were me, I would: step up one grade in oil to 5W30. Do a thorough engine flush (put in flush 25 - 50 miles of 'very' light driving at end of day to get it to circulate through Phasers - let it set in engine overnight, warm up 5 minutes next morning then drain and change Oil / Filter), start shopping and collecting timing parts and HV Oil pump. For 12 to 14 hundred dollars, you can do a 'jamb-up' good job in a couple of days and have a truck with another 200,000 miles life in it.

Will do. Would it be better to buy the cam phaser lockout kit? I heard it can be kind of a pita but I’ve been looking into them lately lol. Thank you for your reply. I’ll do an oil change this weekend and hopefully it will quiet down a little bit until I can get timing done.

You could. I'm not in favor of them and the subject is about as deeply divided around here as the rift between Trump / Polosi.

I feel like they are akin to putting a band-aid on a wound that should have been sutured. May stop the bleeding but scar is there forever and will keep you from ever getting around to doing proper surgery. They haven't stopped making cars with variable valve timing just because some earlier models had troubled history. Hell, the 5.0l has four phasers instead of two

Don't buy cheap components either. Buy Ford OEM or Melling. That's about the only choice for quality. I spent $1400 in parts doing my timing job (some of that was new radiator hoses, belt, belt pulleys and belt tensioner)
