New to me truck with problems--please help!!
Hey guys, new to the forum and ford trucks. Always drove a truck but never had a ford until now. Bought an 04 SCREW 5.4 a few days ago and now I have inherited some weird problems. I have searched the forums for 2 days but haven't found my exact problems yet. I have the diesel noise but with sooo many mixed results from fixing and not fixing I decided to take the chance, that's not my concern now though. I bought the truck last Thursday and had no problems at all until Sunday morning. The battery was dead Sunday morning for no apparent reason, jumped it off and everything was fine till it was dead the next morning. It is sitting in the driveway right now with dead battery, headlights on with truck off (obviously), switch off, no keys in it, stay on even with relay removed, a weird clicking sound coming from behind rear seat, and will not start even when boosted. I am absolutely stumped, I hope you guys are not. I need some help guys asap. Thanks in advance.

Have your battery tested. Odds are it's shot. The clicking and weird electrical issues are common with a bad battery.
Congrats on the new truck. I bet once the issues get sorted out, you'll love it.

I jumped my battery when i forgot to take the key out last week. Drove home 3 hours and parked the truck. Three days later the battery was dead. Who knew jumping off batteries now is a bad thing. Apparently a little Civic battery fried mine.

Bottom line correct problem , replace battery [which was probably the problem to start with]and drive happy

Yes. I personally took the cables and connected them to a Civic. No guess there. Also the battery was perfectly fine until i jumped it off then the battery immediately wouldn't take a charge. Replaced battery and no issue. I'm willing to bet that you, I and the OP do not have the same battery brand either.

Please research how much information is out there about what can happen when you jump off a battery so i don't have to argue with you over the internet.
