noisy injectors on these trucks, mine was diagnosed perfectly normal just loud injectors... truck runs great just noisy with the passenger window down... oh mines a 2008 tho...

I just picked up a great condition 2006 F150 with the 5.4. The truck runs and drives great, but after spending some time here reading, I am slightly worried. My truck sounds SLIGHTLY like a diesel. I have read all about Cam Phasers and valve noise with the 5.4, and I am hoping a slight diesel-like noise is normal. The only time I can hear it, is at a stop light with the windows up, radio off and no one is talking. With the hood open, or windows down, it sounds like a really quiet v8. Lots of clicking valves with my head under the hood, but nothing out of the ordinary(Or so I hope). It has a ton of power, and doesnt have any check engine lights on.

I am betting mine is similar. Only sounds that way on the passenger side. ::shrug:: she runs fine and I haven't had any issues... so I am leaving it as is for now.
