So my new spyder headlights will be here tmrw. Been thinking if I should add the silicone to make sure there is a water tight seal. Should I bother doing it? If so what should i use?? And recommendations??

 

Also post some pics if you have some similar lights!! The projectors with the ccfl halos

Those look nice man! Yeah, def seal them up, you don't want water getting into them!

 

Hell yeah, seal those puppies up real good. I used clear Automotive adhesive/sealant on 2 sets i got and it works fine. I got it at Autozone and it is called Amazing Goop in a red squeeze tube. Let them dry atleast 24hrs just to be safe as well.

 

I recommend you lightly heat them up with a heat gun on the body to lens seal and listen for any creaking... If you hear that sound it means the lens was not seated perfectly.. I would then slather on some permatex black silicone in the cracks and then let that cure... They may not leak right away, but hit some big puddles and wash your truck and they might... I had the Harley Ebays that were great for months then fogged up bad!... I sealed the outside only and they leaked again.. So I split them apart with a heat gun, ran a fresh bead of black silicone, and they have been great ever since... I ended up picking up a set of OEM's lights that I "Harley" styled myself and have been running those for a while now... I'm gonna keep the eBay lights for a projector retrofit at some point...
