Default New guy here...with some crazy electical problems!

Hello, I have an '04 F150 Lariat that has 46,000 miles on it. I have been having some weird electrical gremlins. They seem to happen when it rains, so I am sure that there is water getting in somewhere. The first thing was the interior lights were going on, and fading out...then coming on again by themselves as the truck was parked in the driveway. It looked like someone was opening and closing the door. Then, another time, when I parked the truck, all the engine warning lights on the dashboard were flickering on and off with the key OUT of the ignition. One morning I went out and the truck was as dead as a doornail, with a relay clicking away that sounded like it was coming from the rear driver's side of the cab. Finally...the last thing was just today. I put a new battery in it in case the old one was dying (I have seen some weird electrical behavior with low battery life). I started the truck, and was listening to a cd. Suddenly, the cd cut out...no sound. I could see that the cd was counting up to show it was playing...but no sound. I checked the radio - nothing as well. But, when I turned the truck off and had the key on auxiliary power, I heard music. I started the truck again...the music stopped. It will only play music when the engine is turned off. What the heck is going on?!?!?! Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!

A bit of an update...I brought the truck to my local repair shop, and we started taking panels off. We heard a lot of noises coming from the fuse box next to the floor where the passengers feet go. There was actual water inside the fuse box!!!!!!! I pulled up the rugs and the corner of the rug is wet and the foam under a black rubber layer under the rugs was wet as well. I sprayed water for a LONG time around the windshield and the door seals, and never could duplicate so much as one drop inside the truck. What do you guys think?

Make sure your drain holes (under the truck) are not clogged with mud/rocks...The water may not be coming in from your windshield, just because its up front, doesnt mean thats were it comes from. When you hit your breaks, all of the water will run forward, so that means, the water may be getting in from the back. You may even try spraying from under the engine compartment (duplicate driving through puddles)

ANOTHER UPDATE! I think I have found the leak! After looking online, I saw a lot of people complaining about a leaky third brake light in the '04's. I sprayed mine while my wife was sitting in the truck, and sure enough, a LOT of water started dripping down! Off to the dealer tomorrow to try to get a new gasket!!

you should also try and put some rtv gasket maker on there. it should help seal it better than the stock gasket would.
