Post new gears...help!!

I'm looking to put new rear end gears in my 04 5.4 150. I pull some heavy loads with my truck ranging from 5k to 11k. So I'm looking for some tough gears to get me the most power out of my truck. I know right now I'm running 428rwhp and 450ft/tq so i know I have the power so i could use heavier gears any way. I know on the new 150s the 3.73 gears give you 11,300lbs towing which is the best in that class. I just don't know much about rear end and gearing. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what gears you have now and what size tires you have now and or are planing on running in the future.....

If you are going from 3.73 to 4.10 most generally the cost is not worth the result...

Now if you are running 35's and are going from 3.73 to 4.56 or 4.88 is most definitely worth the cost of re-gearing.

I'm assuming you have 3.73's......

If you do more highway driving than city driving I would get 4.56s

Then again- I'm not seeing near the type of horsepower you are, so maybe someone that is can give you a better idea.

Whichever ratio you choose, I recommend Yukon brand. I had 4.56 in my 06, with 6" lift and 35's. I was running stock power, and the gears helped immensely!
