I'm fairly new at trying to understanding the re gearing and all that. What are the pros and cons? Price? Reason for doing it? Should I re gear if I get 35's? I have 3:55 now...

What engine do you have? I've been wanting to do this as well. Are you running high rpms on highway?

4.2 5spd. So i have a fifth gear you guys dont. At 70mph im at 1900 rpms now. I was really undergeared before. Ford put 3:31s in the v6 manuals. Which with my 35s made it very undergeared.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that run you? And did you install it or have a shop install?
I've been wanting to get 4:10's for a while now. My truck is at 3:55 right now, but not as bad as your 3:31's!

Did it give you any seat of the pants boost? I've got a 4.2 auto and have been on the fence.

Havent really been able to put er down to the floor hard. They have a 1000 mile breakin before i can or i can void the warranty. They have to condition to the heat and you have to change out the fluid after the breakin to get any metal particals that come off. After that im golden. But just the little bit ive driven her around, shes definitely more peppy. Its was $650 installed with new gears, bearings , and carrier with a 2yr 24k mile warranty

That's fair in my opinion. Was it the dealer or just a local shop? Congrats! I'm jealous!

Local shop. AZ Differential. He builds crawlers, dirt track cars and drag cars as well. Great service and work!
