Exclamation Need some help

ok well i have an 04 fx4 with just over 90k on it and a couple of days ago i started to realize a difference in the steering of it. after i would make a left or right turn and the steering wheel was recovering to go back to straight the wheel started to stop 3/4 of way thru and stay in a turned position when it would normally fully recover to straight...it has an all and all weird feeling now while turning...checked fluids and they are fine...and im not quite sure what it could be

if you need me to explain better what the symptoms are just ask...its hard to put it into words w/o being able to physically show

i had a similar problem with my 07 stx. it is probably your steering stem. the part with thetwo u-joints that connect the steering column to the lower components on your front end.

I was having a similar problem with my steering. my lower u-joint actually seized up. My mechanic had to order the part from a local dealership. Since the u-joints are stamped in you have to replace the whole stem. it only took about twenty minutes. the part cost me right around $250 and it made a world of difference in the handling of the truck.
